A Grape Night In Kick starts their Tooting Market adventure

We’ve been wondering when the A Grape Night In crew would settle down and find a permanent home and it  looks like their acclaimed nomadic wine experiences will soon have one in Tooting Marketing of all places. That’s if their Kickstarter Campaign reaches its modest goal of £5,000. (At the time of writing they were in touching distance of the half way mark with 23 days to go)

On the face of it, especially for those who know Tooting Market, this location may seem a little strange, but if you delve a little deeper and look at the changes that are happening in Tooting and in Tooting Market you see it starts to make a lot more sense. Especially as the people who run Tooting Market seem to want it to become more like Brixton Village Market. If you add that to the many curry houses, plus newer places like the Chicken Shop and Honest Burger, Tooting will soon start to be labeled as the new food mecca of South London, though some would argue it already is.

Their plan is to make their space in Tooting Market into one that is homely and provides wine which is great but without the pomp and the price that great wines normally command. While also keeping their Pop Up mentality which has made them such a success so far, with a rotating calendar of chefs, themes, and topical tastings.

I’ve really got high hopes for the girls and our recommendation would be to pledge £60 which will get your name on the Family Tree of supporters and an exclusive ticket to the opening night! But Hey if you want to pledge £500 and have a movie night with 14 friends or you can pledge £1,000 and get full hire and the works for 10 friends OR you can help them hit the target all by yourself and pledge £2,500, for that you’ll get a special Top Secret thank you.
